Immediate Management of Anaphylaxis is an accredited 1-day (6 contact hours) course for qualified First Aiders/Emergency First Aiders and healthcare staff, enabling learners to recognise and treat anaphylaxis safely and effectively where adrenaline is available. It covers recognising allergic reactions vs anaphylaxis, casualty assessment, preparing medication, safe use of an adrenaline auto-injector (using a training device), sharps disposal in line with agreed ways of working, and handover to a medical professional. Assessed by practical assessment plus open and multiple-choice questioning. Maximum 12 learners; minimum age 16. Certificate valid for 3 years; annual refreshers are recommended.
